Ahava Ministries, Malawi - August 2019 - december 2019

Moringa processing building at Ahava

Back at the compound of Ahava Ministries, a health clinic which provides medical care for all the underprivileged people from the communities around. Seven years ago our founder Narda Beunders was there to built up the first phase of the clinic. Under the wings of the construction to built, she started the sisters-house, the toilet building, septic tanks and the foundations of the whole clinic.

This time she went there to work inside the villages to re-built, strengthen and improve the houses of the Ahava team workers. The clay and mud houses where where damaged due to the flood and very heavy rainfall in March 2019. Together with them, financially and initiated by Ahava Ministries, we built one total new house for one of the *agogo’s who lost his entire house. (*elderly/grandparents) In addition we made plans, calculations and drawings for the maintenance of the other families of the team.

Besides these village constructions we also worked on many technical construction jobs on the Ahava compound. Very educational for all parties and sometimes quite a challenge, because of some new topics like water-management and terrain improvement. Research and investigation on site and online gave a lot of insights, but without the experience of the guys (and girls) on site we would never had gain the information which was needed. Great confirmation that working together makes it much more easy to get the right results!

Last but certainly not least, Narda designed a new Moringa house, where the agogo’s can process the leaves of the Moringa trees to make very nutritious powder and medicine. This project started early November and continued after her leaving Ahava, still under her supervision, only on distance.
